Meat... er... meet the food-imalsCloudy With A chance Of Meatballs was a left field ‘toon surprise back in 2009, a truly entertaining and surreal dose of insanity that hit more than it missed. So naturally the sequel is en route and the first trailer has arrived courtesy of Yahoo. Take a gander below, why don’t you?
Picking up the story of dedicated scientist Flint Lockwood (Bill Hader), the man who created a device to turn water into food, we discover that the inhabitants of Swallow Falls have relocated to let the authorities clean up the mess left by Flint’s machine going a little haywire and raining giant edible products down on the place.
Flint himself has been working at the Live Corp Company for idol Chester V (Will Forte), but then learns that the food machine wasn’t completely destroyed and ended up on an island where it has been creating weird food creature hybrids.
So Flint and his friends, including Sam (Anna Faris), Brent (Andy Samberg), Barb (Kristen Schaal), Steve (Neil Patrick Harris) and Earl (Terry Crews, taking over for Mr T) must journey there to fix things. Though original writer/directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller aren’t back for this one, the film is in the hands of director Cody Cameron who worked on the original, while the script’s by Kris Pearn (head of story on the first film) with additional material from Horrible Bosses writers John Francis Daley and Jonathan M Goldstein.
Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs 2 is out on October 25.
