Jason Bateman recently made his directorial debut with Bad Words earlier this year, and has wasted no time in returning to the helm.  He's now set to direct The Family Fang, an adaptation of the 2011 Kevin Wilson novel scripted by David Lindsay-Abaire that stars Nicole Kidman.  The story centers on the children of performance artist parents who rope their kids into participating in all manner of bizarre activities.  When the grown children return home to deal with a family crisis, they're once again forced to take part in their parents' final performance.  Hit the jump for more. News on Bateman helming The Family Fang comes courtesy of Deadline.  Bateman is currently filming Shawn Levy's family comedy, This Is Where I Leave You, also starring Rose Byrne, Tina Fey, Jane Fonda, Timothy Olyphant and Connie Britton.  Bateman then has the Sean Anders-directed sequel, Horrible Bosses 2, which will reunite him with Charlie Day and Jason Sudeikis, while Chris Pine and Christoph Waltz join as the new antagonists.  The sequel is set for November 28, 2014.
