'Glee' Cast Shakeup: 5 Original Cast Members Out

Fox's "Glee" is saying goodbye to several fan favorites.

Original cast members Dianna Agron, Heather Morris, Mark Salling, Amber Riley and Harry Shum, Jr. won't be returning as series regulars next season, though they may make guest appearances, individuals close to the production confirmed to TheWrap.

A representative for show producers, 20th Century Fox Television, declined to comment.

LA Times Hit by Another Round of 'Modest' Layoffs

The Los Angeles Times has cut more employees in what the paper termed a "modest round of staff reductions" on Friday.

The layoffs coincided with the end of the parent Tribune Co.'s quarter and a new redesign of its website. The beleaguered company, which was mired in bankruptcy for several years, is trying to sell off its newspapers to focus on its TV holdings.

In the wake of dropping five original cast members, Fox's "Glee" has given promotions to five newer members of New Directions.

Melissa Benoist, Jacob Artist, Becca Tobin, Blake Jenner and Alex Newell have been promoted from recurring cast members to series regulars, a representative for show producer, 20th Century Fox Television, confirmed to TheWrap.
