"Ginger and Rosa," a coming-of-age tale set in 1962 England from writer-director Sally Potter, debuted with $45,000 from three theaters this weekend.
That's a solid $15,000 per-screen average for the film, which stars Elle Fanning and Alice Englert as teenage girls growing up in London as the Cuban Missile Crisis looms, and the pivotal event that comes to redefine their relationship. Allesandro Nivola, Christina Hendricks, Annette Bening and Oliver Platt co-star.
