GoDigital has acquired North American VOD and digital distribution rights to "Away From Here," a new drama from producers Terry Leonard of Strongman and Kate Cohen, CEO of Straight Up Films. The film centers on the intimate relationship between a mysterious ex-priest and a waitress from his hometown. "Away From Here" will play a limited theatrical run prior to its digital and cable VOD release in fall, 2013.
"This film is a uniquely powerful and controversially topical take on the romance drama," said GoDigital CEO Logan Mulvey. "We're truly excited to see how audiences react and we're honored to be in business with such a fantastic and accomplished production team."
"Away From Here" stars Nick Stahl as James, a drifter plagued with visions of his traumatic past, and co-stars Alicia Witt, best known for "Friday Night Lights". Cohen co-wrote the script with Timothy Michael Cooper and Bruce Van Dusen directed. Deborah McIntosh of WME and GoDigital's Jane Rozelle negotiated the sale.
