While Samsung users were busy listening to Jay-Z's "Magna Carta Holy Grail" on early Thursday morning, Kanye West decided to become a film critic. West used his Twitter account to review Guillermo Del Toro's "Pacific Rim."
I saw a pre-screening of Pacific Rim yesterday and it's easily one of my favorite movies of all time.

This is not another "Robot" movie. Guillermo del Toro is a master.

As it turns out, West got to see "Pacific Rim" because of RZA: the Wu-Tang Clan leader held a special screening of "Pacific Rim" in Los Angeles on Tuesday night and extended an invite to Kanye via Twitter:
U turned me onto Pan Labyrinth and @GulllermoDelToro doing #PacifiicRim tonight private, you down @kanyewest sent something to your email.

The upcoming film, about giant monsters (called kaiju) fighting equally giant, human-built robots (called jaegers), is set for release on July 12; Idris Elba, Charlie Hunnam, Charlie Day and Rinko Kikuchi all star. Warner Bros. has a strict review embargo in place to prevent critics from writing about "Pacific Rim" at this time, but it apparently doesn't apply to West.
