That New Vine App Proves Its Usefulness in 'Ryan Gosling Won't Eat His Cereal'

It’s been hard for me to imagine what possible practical use I might have for Vine, a new app that allows users to share six-second video chunks the way Instagrammers share photos. Now that I’ve seen Ryan Gosling Won’t Eat His Cereal, all that has changed. Why, there’s a whole comedy/art medium here just waiting to be tapped! Too bad most people will still probably just post annoying nightclub shout-outs. Meanwhile: eat your cereal, Ryan! We need you to stay strong so you can return to your true calling of being eloquently dreamy on film.

Would you feel better about clinging to your childhood Pokémon fixation if all those characters and beasties occupied a gritty film noir landscape? Because a new webcomic by Ray Bruwelheide provides  exactly this. As someone who saw “Pokémon: The First Movie – Mewtwo Strikes Back” in theaters back in 1999, I now feel entitled to a version directed by Sam Fuller. Looking forward to more chapters of Viridian City!

While we’re reliving our anime-obsessed youths, let’s revel in these “Sailor Moon” inspired portraits of Disney heroines such as Ariel, Jasmine, and Snow White. One correction though: “Anastasia” was not a Disney movie! Even as kids we could totally tell the difference.

Buzzfeed’s roundup of fifty incredible literary tattoos features some predictable entries (lots of The Little Prince and Where the Wild Things Are) but I’m genuinely impressed to see outliers like The Boxcar Children and the Nancy Drew mysteries represented. Funny, there are a LOT of children’s books on this list. Is it because they lend themselves to better artwork, or because childhood favorites seem evergreen in our minds? Either way, one day your grandkids will be very excited to see The Very Hungry Caterpillar emblazoned on your leg.
