I don’t know about you, but I can easily imagine running into every one of these handsome creatures in the foggy streets of Silent Hill. I call them monsters, but really, they’re essentially bulbous, writhing masses of flesh, bone and eyes. Even still, they’re all uniquely terrifying.
Today we’re looking at the spectacularly unsettling work of Russian artist straychi1d. I had trouble choosing one to feature in the banner, because, well… none of them have anything that I could identify as a face. Not that that’s a bad thing. I dare say too many monsters these days have faces. I think Slender Man may be at the forefront of a (somewhat) new and welcome trend in monster design. If I can look into the eyes of the thing that’s chasing me, that makes it just a wee bit less scary.
All that’s just a long-winded way of saying “Hey you, check this out!”
