One day after tiny pageant sensation Alana Thompson's parents actually tied the knot, TLC has announced that Here Comes Honey Boo Boo will be back for a second season this summer. The hit redneck reality series returns on July 17 at 9 PM for another cycle. “This summer, get ready to watch the family take part in hijinks like butter rolling, tap dancing lessons and wrestling events," said TLC in a statement Monday. On May 5, June “Mama Bear” Shannon and Mike “Sugar Bear” Thompson got married in a ceremony where guests were encouraged to attend in full redneck attire, according to the invite. The couple’s three daughters, including 7-year along Alan were all in attendance. The initial 10 episodes of Season 1 of the Authentic Entertainment-produced on the family proved a big hit for TLC, averaging 2.4 million viewers. January Halloween and Thanksgiving specials plus a Never Seen Before clip show and a Christmas special in February also delivered strong numbers.
