Indiewire parent company SnagFilms has been awarded Red Herring's Top 100 North America award, which honors "the year's most promising private technology companies" in America that are "positioned to grow at an explosive rate."
From a pool of more than 1,000 candidates, Red Herring's editorial staff selected the winning companies on 20 different quantitative and qualitative criteria such as financial performance, technology innovation, management quality, strategy and market penetration.
"For nearly two decades, making the Red Herring 100 has been the tech world's equivalent of winning an Oscar," said SnagFilms CEO Rick Allen. "We are honored to have been recognized as a social media platform that uses technology to bring the world's best films to the broadest possible audience.
"The timing of this recognition could not be better, as we launch the next generation of our web platform next month. We are proud of our team, grateful to our investors, and energized by Red Herring's attention."
