Demi Lovato's biological father, Patrick, has passed.
The 20-year-old singer has been estranged from her father since 2007, after he and her mother Dianna split in 1994. According to Us Weekly, Lovato Sr. battled cancer in recent years and had tried reaching out to his famous daughter, saying "It is not like I want anything from her, all I want is her love."
The "X Factor" judge hasn't commented yet on the passing of her father, but her older sister tweeted the sad news yesterday afternoon, writing:

Lovato's pals and fellow "X Factor" stars Mario Lopez and Simon Cowell also took to Twitter to show their support, writing:
