Fox Searchlight has moved up Steve McQueen's much-anticipated "12 Years a Slave" from its previously announced release date of December 27 to October 18. This makes it all the more likely that the film will play the early fall festival circuit. We recently predicted it would land at Venice.
Chiwetel Ejiofor, Michael Fassbender, Brad Pitt, Benedict Cumberbatch and Paul Giamatti, among many others in a sprawling cast, star in the true-life tale of Solomon Northrup, a free African-American man abducted and sold into slavery in the pre-Civil War United States.
Six images for the film were recently released; check them out here.
