Hey guys! Horrorella here...
The UK trailer has hit for the Japanese film (and winner of the Jury prize at the Cannes Film Festival) LIKE FATHER, LIKE SON. The story is about a businessman and his wife whose world is torn apart when a school blood test reveals that the boy they have raised since infancy is not their biological son, and that the babies had been accidentally switched in the hospital. They make contact with the couple who have been raising their child, and both families must struggle with the knowledge and the decision of what to do in the face of nearly impossible circumstances. As one of the characters bluntly notes, "They're not pets."
Written and directed by Hirokazu Kore-eda, the film looks to be emotionally complex, contemplating the question of what exactly makes up a family and where do parental responsibilities lie.

Earlier this week, THR reported that Steven Spielberg will be producing a remake of this film through Dreamworks. It's an interesting project, and one that I wouldn't mind Spielberg taking the reins on himself. In the meantime though, I am really looking forward to seeing the original version of the story.
LIKE FATHER, LIKE SON will open in the UK on October 18th. No U.S. release date has been announced.
