'X Factor' Gives Fans the Unofficial, Non-Voting Position of Fifth Judge Oct 29th 2013, 01:59, by Jethro Nededog “The X Factor” will now allow the judges to look at viewer opinions while they’re making their decisions. Starting with Tuesday’s first live episode, viewers can use a set of hashtags to answer questions during the broadcast. Their answers will be tabulated and the results shown on-stage so that the judges can see what the audience is thinking. This week, the judges have to each send home one act.
