Stephenie Meyer captivated readers with her wildly successful young adult series Twilight, the story of an unlikely romance between a mortal and a vampire. The series was a shoo-in for movie studios, who had all of the right material — and just needed to accomplish the creation of a successful movie adaptation. And accomplish it they did. The five-movie series has since earned more than three billion dollars. Meyer didn’t stop with Bella and Edward, though, and in 2008 she published her first for-grown-ups novel, The Host. Now, “The Host” is hitting theaters, with a movie adaptation directed by Andrew Niccol, and starring Saoirse Ronan, Diane Kruger, and William Hurt.
Word and Film recently caught up with the author and some of the cast and crew. Find out what they had to say about the making of the movie adaptation here, and then check out some of the photos from the movie by clicking the photo above.
