As most of you know, Disney/Marvel's Iron Man 3 has made $680 million in twelve days of worldwide play, besting even the $641 million respective twelve-day total of The Avengers last summer during this same period. Iron Man 3 is towering over the prior Iron Man pictures, which topped out at $585 million and $622 million respectively. The question becomes what does it mean that the third Iron Man solo film did almost as well in America and better than The Avengers did last year?
