Hey Yo, Draven here.
THR is reporting that TRON: LEGACY and OBLIVION director, Joeseph Kosinski, is in talks to direct a new big screen adaptation of the legendary TV series, THE TWILIGHT ZONE. Whether it ends up being a singular story or an anthology film like the 1983 big screen adaptation is unknown at this point.
Rod Sterling's original series is one of my favorites ever. I find myself re-watching episodes of it constantly (the Blu-rays are worth the spendy prices) but I am not sure how I feel about this news. Tragedy aside, there are some worthwhile things in the 1983 movie but most of the stories are mediocre (aside from Joe Dante's). Kosinski hasn't done anything yet that would really get me excited for this. His visual style is great but so far both of his films have had flat stories and characters and TWILIGHT ZONE must be story and character driven.
What do you guys think about this news? Is Kosinski right for this? What are some of your favorite TWILIGHT ZONE episodes?
