The first "Homeland" trailer for Season 3 is here and you may want to grab your tissues or a stiff drink.
Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes), Nicholas Brody (Damian Lewis), Saul Berenson (Mandy Patinkin) and the rest of the Showtime drama's characters we've come to love, hate, and love to hate return for what looks like an incredibly emotional season, if the three-minute trailer above is any indication.
Set to The Cinematic Orchestra's "To Build A Home," the new "Homeland" trailer shows a bald Brody -- whose bullet hole in his back is just one of many injuries -- a very broken-down and hospitalized Carrie; a distraught Saul; a potential convert in Dana (Morgan Saylor); the Senate hearings into 12/12 attack, during which Carrie and Saul both "swear to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth" ... so help them God; plenty of gun shots, explosions and much, much more.
Watch the new "Homeland" trailer above and share your theories in the comments.
"Homeland" Season 3 premieres Sunday, September 29 at 9 p.m. ET on Showtime.
