Robert De Niro is hit and miss with his comedies, but I think he could have a hit with The Family. It's a dark comedy that suits his tough guy persona rather than poking fun at it like Analyze This and Meet the Parents. There's still a fish-out-of-water aspect with his character, a mafia guy who's forced to move with his family to France as part of witness protection, and I'm not quite sure what we'll be getting. The trailer is half-comic, half-drama, but both sides look enjoyable. Hopefully, De Niro and his co-stars Michelle Pfeiffer, Tommy Lee Jones, Dianna Agron (Glee), and John D'Leo (Wanderlust) can deliver the goods.
