The 2013 Academy Governors Awards have finally been announced after a day-long delay while executives waited to notify one traveling awardee. The Board of Governors voted on the awards on Tuesday night. The Academy Governors will present on November 16 Honorary Awards to Angela Lansbury, Steve Martin and Italian costume designer Piero Tosi, and the coveted Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award to a deserving Angelina Jolie. Stated Academy President Cheryl Boone Isaacs: "The Governors Awards pay tribute to individuals who've made indelible contributions in their respective fields. We couldn't be more excited for this year's honorees and look forward to bringing their peers and colleagues together to celebrate their extraordinary achievements." The Honorary Award, an Oscar statuette, is given "to honor extraordinary distinction in lifetime achievement, exceptional contributions to the state of motion picture arts and sciences, or for outstanding service to the Academy."
