And Luke Hobbs is bringing it back on the set of Fast & Furious 7Never far from Twitter these days, Dwayne Johnson is a man who enjoys staying in touch with his fans and keeping us all up to date on what he’s up to. Right now, he’s transitioning from one big project to another as, with Brett Ratner’s Hercules: The Thracian Wars wrapped, he’s back in the US and into the Thunderwear for Fast And Furious 7.
All through his work on Hercules, he’s been sharing pics of the set and little looks at his character, but hasn’t shown his face until now. As the picture above shows, this Hercules, a human warrior without the usual demi-god trappings of the story, is still someone to be reckoned with. He stars in the film alongside the likes of Joseph Fiennes, John Hurt, Ian McShane, Rufus Sewell, Peter Mullan and Aksel Hennie. It’ll be out on next year.
Fast & Furious 7 needs much less introduction, though it will see Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) and the gang dealing with not having to live as outlaws and being called in by the government once more to stop a member of the Shaw family. In this case, it’s one played by Jason Statham, and the mission will need the tough guy / big gun attitude of Johnson’s Luke Hobbs.
Diesel has a head start on the promotional front, but we’re looking forward to seeing who posts more from the film as Johnson gets to work. Could this be the new Hobbs / Toretto rivalry, with them spending entire scenes hunched over smart phones or laptops?
Fast & Furious 7 will race into our cinemas on July 25.
