Complex has posted an extensive article with Spike Lee about the upcoming Oldboy remake, which hits theaters November 27th. Lee discusses how he looked at the Billboard Top 100 R&B/Hip Hop songs over the past 20 years and culled his selections from those lists as well as what song he feels his the best representation of Josh Brolin’s character Joe (“Hey Joe” by Jimi Hendrix). Head on below for the 147 track playlist (Spotify required to listen) and head on here for the full interview.
“Oldboy is a provocative, visceral thriller that follows the story of Joe Doucette, a man who is abruptly kidnapped and held hostage for 20 years in solitary confinement, for no apparent reason. When he is suddenly released without explanation, he begins an obsessive mission to find out who imprisoned him, only to discover that the real mystery is why he was set free.“
