So, is Chris Pratt going to be the next big thing? The "Parks & Recreation" star certainly has a busy agent, who has lined him up in a co-starring role opposite Vince Vaughn in this month's "Delivery Man," and of course the actor will be seen in next summer's Marvel gamble "Guardians Of The Galaxy." And that's following stints in stuff like "Moneyball" and "Zero Dark Thirty" that allowed him to show a bit of range. And it looks like another tentpole project is coming Pratt's way.
The Wrap reports that Pratt is in very early talks for the lead role in "Jurassic World," but scheduling for 'Parks' would need to be worked out before anything is final. We dig Pratt, so his involvement in anything is fine by us, but for Josh Brolin fans there's a bit of bad news. We'd been hearing this ourselves over the past week, but the trade confirms that the deal for Brolin to join the movie didn't pan out. But it seems casting overall is firing on all cylinders as Irrfan Khan ("Life Of Pi," "The Amazing Spider-Man") is also being sought for a supporting part. Meanwhile, Hypable had a random rumor recently that Jason Schwartzman was joining the movie too, though that hasn't gained much traction in the week since it first kicked online.
There are no plot details being made available so we can't tell you who is playing what, the cast in place so far includes Ty Simpkins, Nick Robinson and Bryce Dallas Howard. And while it might seem odd that this movie doesn't have an A-lister attached, the big stars in this franchise have always been the dinosaurs, so it's not a big deal.
