Gil Kofman's dreadful experience directing a thriller in China using local talent and financing is salvaged by a documentary that chronicled his nightmare, 'Unmade in China.'

Gil Kofman suspected that making a movie in China wouldn't be easy. The Los Angeles-based director doesn't speak a word of Mandarin, he wasn't acquainted with the film's inexperienced financiers and he assumed communist government censors might have script notes about his cyber thriller.
