So remember those rumors that James McAvoy was being eyed to lead "The Crow? Turns out it wasn't quite true, but maybe it just a game of internet telephone tag because another actor is getting ready to goth, and happens to come from the isle that is the United Kingdom.
The Wrap reveals that Tom Hiddleston -- perhaps best known as Loki in the Marvel movies -- is in early talks to break out the white facepaint and play Eric Draven in "The Crow." Apparently, his participation all comes down to the makeup test, with the actor providing his own to producers to get his foot in the door, while he'll undergo an official one very soon. Why? Because "the character's appearance is important to fans of the franchise." Are there that many fans of the franchise that need to the movie hinges on whoever looking decent as a 1990s alterna-rocker? (And we assume they're still using the character design that was tossed around when Bradley Cooper was involved).
Anyway, F. Javier Gutierrez ("Before the Fall") is directing and production is tentatively slated for this fall, but depends on a few factors, probably one of which is securing a leading man in the first place. Here's hoping that Hiddleston can pull off goth-Jared-Leto to get the part.
