Edie Gorme, who died on Saturday at the age of 84 in Las Vegas after a long illness, will be remembered musically for much more than her best-selling 1963 dance single "Blame It On the Bossa Nova."

The Grammy-winning singer was a staple of late-night and variety TV programs in the 1950s  and '60s with her husband, singer Steve Lawrence. "I fell in love with her the moment I saw her and even more the first time I heard her sing," he said in a statement.
