While everyone will mostly be concerned with whatever is going on and being taken off between Dakota Johnson and Charlie Hunnam in "Fifty Shades Of Grey," there will presumably be more than just sex scenes in the adaptation of the erotica hit. And some actors are being found for those parts of the movie.
Deadline reveals that the always excellent Jennifer Ehle will be one of the those folks, with the "Zero Dark Thirty," "Contagion" and "The Ides Of March" actress landing the part of Anastasia Steele's mother in the movie. Since we haven't read the books, and have no plans to, we turn to Wikia to fill in the blanks on the role of Carla May Wilks, who doesn't have the best reputation. According to the site:
"...flighty, forgetful, self-centered, and easily bored. She has "the attention span of a goldfish", especially with respect to her hobbies that she tries to turn into business ideas. Ana goes so far as to call these ventures "harebrained schemes", saying that her interest in each idea only lasts for a week. Ana also legitimately worries that Carla may have mortgaged her house to finance her most recent idea, suggesting that her mom is financially irresponsible and short-sighted (and may have done something similar in the past)."
Perhaps the highly successful Christian Grey, could be the financial answer for Carla? Guess we'll see. But it's just one of two roles the suddenly busy Ehle has bagged, as she's also joined "The Forger" with John Travolta, Christopher Plummer and Tye Sheridan. Already in front of cameras with Philip Martin ("Wallander") directing, the heist film tells the story of a former child art prodigy and second generation petty thief, Ray Cutter (Travolta) who arranges to buy his way out of prison to spend time with his ailing son, Will Cutter (Sheridan). Ray and his father, Joseph Cutter (Plummer), must come together to carry out one last big job for the syndicate who financed his early release. Ehle plays Kim, Ray's emotionally fragile ex-wife. Anson Mount, Abigail Spencer and Marcus Thomas round out the cast.
No release date yet for "The Forger," but "Fifty Shades Of Grey" is slated for release on August 1, 2014. Sam Taylor-Johnson is at the helm.
