Watch: New Trailer For 'Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom' Is Brought To You By A New U2 Song
Oct 17th 2013, 23:33, by Kevin Jagernauth

We're not sure if U2 is exactly the best choice to write a song for "Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom," but Bono and company have long been supporters of the South African leader, and certainly one of the most high profile, and Harvey Weinstein didn't waste much time in making sure they added an extra promotional flavor to his movie. Something he's no stranger to doing.

"Over the years U2 and I have had a superb relationship including partnering on the Academy Award-nominated and Golden Globe winning song 'The Hands That Built America' for Martin Scorsese's 'Gangs Of New York,' " the producer said in a press release.  "When I asked them to consider writing a song for 'Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom,' it was the fastest 'yes' I have ever received. The band saw various cuts of the film over the summer and worked diligently to write a song that truly reflects Nelson Mandela. I think they did a brilliant job honoring the man and the leader they have known for over 20 years."

And so below, turn your ears to "Ordinary Love" and your eyes to this new trailer for the Idris Elba led biopic, which tracks the life of Nelson Mandela across the decades, with the guidance of director Justin Chadwick. Critical types have been respectful of the movie, but not quite taken with it either, and thus far it seems like the cinematic equivalent of eating vegetables because they are good for you.

'Long Walk' puts up its feet on November 29th. Watch below followed by two new clips, and the UK posters for the film.
