In a competitive situation, Paramount Pictures has acquired rights to “Sabotage,” an upcoming project from author Neal Bascomb for Michael Bay to produce and develop as a potential directing vehicle.
Paramount had no comment.
Plot details are being kept under wraps for now.

Bascomb is the author of “The Nazi Hunters: How a Team of Spies and Survivors Captured the World’s Most Notorious Nazi” and “Red Mutiny: Eleven Fateful Days on the Battleship Potemkin.” He’s also a former journalist who worked as an editor at St. Martin’s Press before becoming a full-time author in 2000.
Scott Rudin has been developing an adaptation of Bascomb’s novel “The New Cool” for Disney.
Bay recently directed “Pain & Gain” and is currently shooting Paramount’s “Transformers: Age of Extinction” with Mark Wahlberg starring. Bay’s upcoming producing credits include “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” and “Almanac.”
Bay is represented by WME.
