The CW is looking to give an extra boost to new drama The Originals, which faces an uphill battle airing against ABC's heavily promoted Marvel's Agents Of SHIELD on Tuesday this fall. The Vampire Diaries spinoff, originally slated to debut on Tuesday, October 16, will now debut on Thursday, October 3 behind the season premiere of The Vampire Diaries, which has been moved up by a week. The Originals will move into its Tuesday 8 PM time slot on October 8 facing Episode 3 of SHIELD and followed by the season premiere of Supernatural, also bowing a week earlier than previously announced. The Originals will get another airing behind Vampire Diaries on Thursday October 10 (Episode 2 encore) before the CW launches new period drama Reign in the Thursday 9 PM slot on October 18, a week later than originally scheduled.
