Yes, there’s a remake of Sam Raimi’s 1981 The Evil Dead arriving in theaters April 5, but that hasn’t stopped the evil genius from teasing fans yet again with the potential of an Evil Dead 4.
“I would love to make Evil Dead 4,” Raimi stated in the press notes for his Oz the Great and Powerful (in theaters March 8), as reported by Bleeding Cool. “My brother and I plan to work on the script this summer.”
I bet Raimi has been itching to drop that juicy nugget into the hands of us hardcore Deadite and Ash fans. And with the Fede Alvarez-directed remake in theaters next month, I can only wonder if there’s some sort of tie-in. If you recall, I pointed out some suspicious imagery in the first trailer, released last July, that implies that Evil Dead may actually be a sequel. Thoughts? Speak below!
