Lisa Berger Named ABC EVP of Alternative Series, Specials and Late Night
Sep 26th 2013, 22:13, by Tim Molloy

Former E! entertainment programming president Lisa Berger has been named ABC’s executive vice president of Alternative Series, Specials and Late Night.

The move, which was expected, follows a stint at E! in which she managed in-house production companies Ryan Seacrest Productions and Borderline Amazing Productions, as well as creative operations for Comcast Entertainment Studios. She developed shows including  the "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" franchise, "The Girls Next Door," "Kendra," "Dr. 90210," "Chelsea Lately," "Fashion Police" and "The Soup."

The news came less than a week after word that John Saade, the former executive vice president of alternative series and late-night programming, was exiting the network. His departure marked the latest in a round of reality TV executive departures. Fox’s Mike Darnell exited in the spring and is now at Warner Bros., while CBS’s Jennifer Bresnan announced last month that she'd be stepping down but will remain with the network.

No reason was given for the departure, and no replacement has yet been announced — though an individual with knowledge of the situation told TheWrap that former E! Entertainment programming president Lisa Berger is being considered for the position.

Berger joined E! Networks as senior vice president of programming development in  2003. She previously spent four years as executive vice president of Creative Affairs for Fox Television Studios Production.

During her time at Fox, she helped bring “The Shield” to FX and oversaw original content for Fox Television Studios Productions. Prior to Fox, she spent 12 years at MTV Networks, guiding "Singled Out," "The Jenny McCarthy Show," "Austin Stories" and "Road Rules."

More to come…
