His first time was on Sept. 30, 1989. It was the 15th season premiere. (This season is number 39.)  Willis had shot his last episode of "Moonlighting" just five months earlier. Musical guest Neil Young performed "Rockin' In The Free World" and "The Needle and the Damage Done."
