UPDATE: That was quick. New Regency has confirmed the Abdy deal. Release is below the original break.

EXCLUSIVE: I’m hearing that Pam Abdy, president of Scott Stuber’s Bluegrass, will be moving shortly to become president of production at New Regency under CEO Brad Weston. I’m trying to confirm. Stay tuned. She worked with Weston when he ran Paramount.

Pam Abdy has been named president of production for New Regency, it was announced today by Brad Weston, the company's president and chief executive officer. Her appointment is effective immediately.

Abdy joins New Regency from Scott Stuber's Bluegrass Films where she served as president, overseeing and producing films such as Identity Thief and the upcoming 47 Ronin, Endless Love and Kill The Messenger, which she executive produced. Prior to joining Bluegrass, she served as executive vice president of development and production at Paramount, where she oversaw films including Martin Scorsese's Shutter Island, Kimberly Peirce's Stop-Loss, Oliver Stone's World Trade Center, Alejandro González Iñárritu's Babel and Mark Waters' Mean Girls.

"I could not be more pleased to bring Pam into New Regency. Her exceptional taste, strong filmmaker relationships and incredible work ethic are precisely in line with our focus at New Regency. She is the perfect addition," said Weston.

New Regency has several high profile projects currently in various stages of production. These include the critically acclaimed 12 Years A Slave, directed by Steve McQueen which is now in theaters via distributor Fox Searchlight; Darren Aronofsky’s Noah, starring Russell Crowe and slated for a March 2014 release with Paramount; David Fincher’s Gone Girl, based on the best-selling novel and starring Ben Affleck, set for an October 2014 release with Fox; Alejandro González Iñárritu's dark comedy Birdman is currently in post-production, starring Edward Norton, Emma Stone and Naomi Watts with Fox Searchlight; and production has just begun on Cameron Crowe’s Untitled film, starring Bradley Cooper, Rachel McAdams and Emma Stone with Sony distributing domestically and
Fox handling international.

Prior to her tenure at Paramount, Abdy served as president of Jersey Films where she produced the multiple award-winning film, Garden State, directed by Zach Braff.
