Watch Idris Elba As Attorney Nelson Mandela In Court In New 'Long Walk to Freedom' Clip Oct 16th 2013, 23:08, by Tambay A. Obenson Here's a clip from Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, which stars Idris Elba as Nelson Mandela and Naomie Harris as Winnie Mandela, in a film directed by Justin Chadwick, which highlights Mandela's early life, education and 27 years in prison.  The Weinstein Company will open the film in the USA on November 29 - likely as one of its Oscar contenders. Reactions and reviews after its TIFF premiere last month were mostly strong. South African stars Tony Kgoroge, Riaad Moosa, Zolani Mkiva, Jamie Bartlett, Lindiwe Matshikiza, Deon Lotz and Terry Pheto, round out the cast. The new clip below highlights Mandela's early days as an attorney, in the 1950s, when he and Oliver Tambo (fellow anti-apartheid activist and African National Congress central figure) opened their own law firm, operating in downtown Johannesburg. I'm still not entirely sold on Idris as Mandela, and this clip doesn't help much. BUT, I'll certainly see the film in full, when the time comes.
