Angie Miller may have put college on hold to audition for American Idol, but she definitely put her brain to work mapping out a Season 12 trajectory that took her all the way to a third-place finish.
Angie stopped by TVLine HQ to talk about how she chose lesser-known numbers like “Never Gone” and “Love Came Down,” why she disagreed with the judges when they used “beauty pageant” and “Disney princess” to describe her, and how she’s hoping to infuse her pop-music sound with elements of “edgy” rock and influences from her deeply held Christian beliefs. (Hint: You won’t hear Angie singing “Jesus, Jesus, Jesus,” she notes, but you’ll always know where her heart is.)
