The promising pairing of Will Ferrell and Kevin Hart is one step closer to becoming a reality. Variety reports that Tropic Thunder and Men in Black 3 screenwriter Etan Cohen has been tapped to make his feature directorial debut with Get Hard for Warner Bros., which sees Ferrell playing a wealthy investment banker and Hart playing the guy who washes his car. When Ferrell's character is wrongly convicted of a crime and sentenced to a maximum security prison, he enlists the help of Hart's "street-smart" character to help prepare him for prison life. Ian Roberts and Jay Martel (Key & Peele) wrote the script, and production will likely begin soon given both Ferrell and Hart's busy schedules. Ferrell is also producing Get Hard, and he and Cohen are actually poised to team up again on the comedy Daddy's Home, which Cohen is attached to direct for Paramount. Deadline reports that Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist and Seeking a Friend for the End of the World scribe Lorene Scafaria will pen the adaptation and Michael Sucsy (Grey Gardens) will direct.
