It's always exciting to see an A-list movie star walk the red carpet at TV's biggest night.
Matt Damon was joined by his wife Luciana at the 2013 Emmy Awards tonight (Sept. 22) -- and the couple looked incredible on the red carpet. Damon is nominated for his first-ever Emmy for his performance as Scott Thorson, Liberace's lover, in HBO's "Behind the Candelabra." Liberace was, of course, played by fellow Lead Actor in a Miniseries or Movie nominee, Michael Douglas.
"That was great," he told "Access Hollywood" of hearing about his nomination. "All the departments got acknowledged too, so that was really cool because while we were making the movie, I said a bunch of times, 'Every single department is just bringing it on this one.'"
But Damon isn't interested in walking away with the statue -- he admitted that he wants Douglas to win.
"It's just such a great story and people know what Liberace looked like and sounded like and so there was a lot of pressure there, just in terms of kind of designing that role and creating it for him," Damon explained of Douglas, continuing, "Then given these recent years, just for him to come back and whoop cancer's a** and then do that? He should have some kind of trophy, right?"
